Charlotte is a teacher, dancer and researcher of historical dance particularly focusing on dance and movement in the medieval and Renaissance periods. Her dance MA investigated authenticity in recreating dances from the past. She is currently Associate Artist for the Historic Royal Palaces.
Wir sind eine Gruppe aus dem Ruhrgebiet, wir tanzen haupsächlich Playford-Tänze, aber auch ganz Queerbeet, alte und neue English Country Dances, Kontras, Branlen,Pavanen, Kreistänze, Squares,
Wir sind in und außerhalb vom Ruhrgebiet mit vielen Gruppen vernetzt, wir geben Workshops, veranstalten Tanztees, Tanzleitertreffen, Auftritte und bilden uns auch weiter.
Wir sind alle Hobbytänzer,keine Profis, bemühen uns aber um Authentizität.

A Weekend dedicated to dance in 1818 in Lucca, Tuscany.
On Friday 24th August 2018, from 9pm to 11pm, there will be a run-through of the choreography for the Grand Ball, in Palazzo Tucci in Lucca, in costumes from 1805 to 1818, held by Maestro Donald Francis from L'Atelier de Danse in Florence.
On Saturday 25th August 2018, from 6pm till 1am, there will be a Grand Napoleonic Ball with the theme "Midsummer Nights", in ball costumes from 1805 till 1818 and neoclassic faeries and elves. It will be held in Villa Rossi and its park, with Dance Master, Maestro Donald Francis and Orchestra Conductor, Maestro Valentino Zangara. There will be rides in a tethered Mongolfier Hot-Air Balloon on the lawn in front of the Villa, a fully staged performance of Mozart's Bastiano and Bastiana and a Napoleonic Buffet Froid all evening. The Villa will be lit only by real candles and there will be a full moon.
On Sunday 26th August there will be another Ball in the Royal Casino in Bagni di Lucca with the same Dance Master and Conductor. The costumes are 1805 to 1818 and the Ball is dedicated to the bicentenary of Percy Bysshe Shelley and his wife Mary staying in Bagni for the summer. Mary had just published "Frankenstein" and Percy decided to translate Plato's "Symposium", a discourse on Love and Eros.
Jedes Mal, wenn sich im Frühjahr und Herbst die großen Türen zum Gemeindesaal in Connewitz für uns öffnen, beginnt wieder ein abwechslungsreicher Tanzabend in Leipzig. Die Musiker freuen sich über die Bühne, die Tänzer über blank poliertes Parkett und die Gäste über verschiedenste Tänze sowohl zum Zuschauen als auch zum Mitmachen.
Wir wissen schon im Voraus, dass es ein besonderer Abend sein wird, da die Stimmung im Gemeindesaal eine ganz besondere ist. Am Ende gibt es für die Darbietungen der Freydänzer und für die Beteiligung aller Gäste Applaus - und jeder verlässt den Saal mit einem Lächeln und leuchtenden Augen.
Denn durch die vielfältigen musikalischen Klänge, dem tänzerischen Geschick und den klaren Erklärungen unserer Tanzmeister bringen wir die alte Zeit in die Gegenwart. Von einfachen Branlen zum Aufwärmen bis hin zu anspruchsvollen Gassentänzen ist für jeden, der Lust und Laune hat, etwas dabei. Unser wechselndes Repertoire sorgt für Abwechslung, sodass sich ein Wiederkommen immer lohnt. Als kleiner Tipp für Interessenten: Wir empfehlen lockere Kleidung.
Kostüme sind natürlich gern gesehen aber sind keine Pflicht!
