Grantham

Grantham is a small market town in the heart of the Midlands. It is famous for Isaac Newton, who went to the King's School there, also, my Son, who went to the same school and was Head Boy there - and is now an Officer in the Household Cavalry, and for Mrs Thatcher of course who was born in Grantham.

Many attractions around Grantham, among others, Belton House (National Trust) which posed as Rosings in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice production.

19.Sommertanzkurs: Tänze des 15. Jahrhundert

Baroque Dance Workshop in Ashland, Oregon

This six-day course will cover the technique and presentation of Baroque dance and is designed for all levels from the absolute beginner to the professional dancer. No previous dance experience is necessary, although any knowledge of other dance forms will enable you to pick up the steps more easily.

Those new to Baroque dance will be taught basic steps, patterns, and musical rhythms, with opportunities for talks on the history, costume and context of the dances. More advanced students will be taught according to their level, with opportunities to work in more detail on their basic technique as well as on more challenging material.

Classes will run Sunday to Friday, usually 10:00–4:00, with evenings free, and a break for lunch. Note that lunch is not provided; there are restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

Partial Attendance

Participants are welcome to attend the workshop for a few days. However it is suggested that, if possible, complete beginners attend from the beginning of the course, when there will be more opportunities to look in detail at the basic steps and elements of style. Please contact Judy if you wish to discuss this.

  • reisen Anfänger und Anfänger mit Vorkenntnissen mit Pia Brocza quer durch Europa - mit dem typischen barocken Paartanz La Transylvanie;
  • folgen Teilnehmer mit guten Grundkenntnissen (und neugierige Fortgeschrittene) Alexander Fischer ins Land, wo die Zitronen blüh'n - mit einem von Gaetano Grossatestas Balletti, einer Choreographie für den Ballsaal von 1726;

  • bittet Pia Brocza die Anfänger, aber auch alle interessierten Tanzfreudigen zu Kontratänzen;
  • bietet Alexander Fischer zwei Kurse zum Lesen der Beauchamp-Feuillet-Notation für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene an;

Kontakt).

Jaunt with Jane

Jaunt with Jane is a Jane Austen themed weekend held in Lyme Regis annually. This coming year the event will be held on the weekend of 16-19th October 2015.

Jaunt with Jane is a fully loaded weekend of fun. Experience the world of Regency Lyme Regis & feel as Jane Austen did with jolly jaunts about town & strolls over the sunlit clifftops. Lyme Regis is a truly breathtaking place. There really is nothing like walking along the Cobb Harbour, feeling the breeze slowly sweeping through your hair & rustling your skirts, just as Jane Austen would have done & Jaunt with Jane provides a fabulous opportunity to do just this!

Enjoy the wonderment of fine food & dance, good company & even watch the sun bath the shoreline as it rises over the highest point on the south coast – the gilt-crested Golden Cap. Enjoy activities that Jane Austen would have adored but never had opportunity such as meet Diana Shervington – a direct descendent of Jane Austen’s brother who also grew up at Chawton House! Diana is a rather interesting lady, with a fabulously expressive voice & exclamatory tone, whose life story, stories about Jane Austen & display of Jane’s belongings will leave you absolutely enthralled.

If you’re feeling like a break then this is the perfect restorative tonic for you! When Captain Wentworth first sees Anne Elliot after 8 years’ absence, he believes that she has lost her bloom, but a few days in Lyme Regis restores Anne’s colour & they are once again together.

Let the restorative tonic of re-enactng Regency Lyme give you a bloom.

Whether watching the wondrous crashigng waves, or watching the patter of the seabirds

The rolling notes of the Oyster catchers blee, blee, blee roll in the air, poising for a moment, then rolling into the distance. Schvwee schvee, shoowoosh….schvwee schvee, shoowoosh….Almost as though they are competing with the catchers, the waves suddenly jump out, silencing the seabirds with their sound.

For your own restorative & a fine time in Regency Lyme, book you Jaunt with Jane ticket now.
